- **Event Description**: Join MESS ROOM, in partnership with LV21, to help create a large scale hanging artwork inspired by the rich nautical history of the Historic Dockyard Chatham to celebrate VE Day.

Taking inspiration from the Dockyard's heritage vessels and nautical motifs, participants can create a piece to be included in our 'Blanket of Hope' project; a tactile, community artwork that will share a variety of positive representations of living with sight loss.

Our 'Blanket of Hope' is part of the nationwide Baton of Hope project, the UK’s biggest suicide prevention initiative.  It will also raise awareness of good eye health, to contribute to the prevention of avoidable sight loss, inspiring people newly diagnosed with eye conditions, through the artistic achievements of our participants, and signposting local sight impaired people to support services which can improve their independence and wellbeing.
