The learner will be introduced to innovative, multidisciplinary, evidence-based, non-pharmacological interventions for dementia. Most importantly, the workshop participant will learn how to think differently about dementia. The goal is to understand how:memory impacts dementia, thus differentiating between memory loss and spared capacitythe importance of “knowing the person” and how this impacts behaviour and “What to do”to address needsto set each person up for success, enhance function, enable abilities, engage each person in a world with meaning, purpose, leisure and pleasuregenerally, help each person to be the best he/she can be.This is a workshop you will not want to miss.
