After the phenomenal response to the Oasis Reunion last year, The Real People found themselves thrown back into the national spotlight due to their well-documented influence on the Gallagher brothers early Oasis days, notably for producing the now legendary Oasis Demo tape!

Alan McGee said - I’d always heard that The Real People had written some songs for Oasis, and I found all this documentation that had been kept away from me in the 90’s, which was Columbia, Don’t Go Away and Rockin’ Chair – you got to just say, they were a huge influence and if I was being honest maybe they should have been involved!”

This is a rare chance to hear their wonderful songwriting skills in an acoustic setting. Expect all the big Realies anthems and some lesser-known, rare gems provided in an acoustic format, together with the stories behind the songs and their career.

The Real People and Oasis.
Oasis were still unsigned when Noel Gallagher first met Tony Griffiths of The Real People when he was roadie to the Inspiral Carpets. In 1992, determined to make a professional sounding demo, he contacted Griffiths and asked him to help record something to send out to record companies.

Initially called JoJo & the Real People, the band started playing in local clubs and later toured as support act for the Inspiral Carpets, Ocean Colour Scene, the Pixies, Simple Minds, David Bowie, and others throughout the 1990s and onwards.

Support will come from Local Medway band The Pastel Waves.
