- **Event Description**: Hard to believe we've been doing this for 20 years! Looking forward to welcoming you all out on the prairie for mardi gras day. Everyone is welcome, but full costume with mask and capuchon is required- absolutely no exceptions. If you plan on pulling a trailer, three things to know: 1. You must contact me before mardi gras day, 2. You have to completely block the area between hitch and trailer on both sides (we use orange snow fencing), and 3. All trailers are considered community property and we expect all drivers to welcome anyone in need of a seat. If you are riding a horse, get with our capitain Jourdan Thibodeaux beforehand. Registration begins at 7AM but parking is way easier the earlier you arrive (park only on the east side of Highway 758). Everyone except drivers is required to register in full costume. The fee is $25 per person (cash or card) and that gets you a registration tag, boudin at the halfway point, gumbo for the dance at the end, and lots of fun all day long. Dogs are not allowed, Glass bottles are not allowed, ATVs are not allowed, loud radios, political flags, and any type of discrimination is NOT ALLOWED. Our bandwagon this year is hosted by Kyle Huval and the Dixie Club Ramblers who are also hosting the pre-party at the Holiday Lounge in Mamou on Lundi Gras. See discussion for event details. For the yard dance after the courir the band is Beau Cheval. This year's embroidered patch was designed by my mother-in-law Betsy Zielinksi and is available for purchase starting today at the link in the discussion- get em while they last- only 200 are available. Remember that you can pre-register and purchase patches at the lundi gras event at the Holiday Lounge Monday night. I'll be setting up Monday if anyone wants to help- please DM me if you can come.
