Venture Stage Company presents its inaugural production: Dogfight
Music and Lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul | Book by Peter Duchan
Based on the Warner Bros. film and screenplay by Bob Comfort

From the Academy, Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award-winning songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, The Greatest Showman), comes a hauntingly beautiful and profoundly human story that helped launch their extraordinary career.

Set on the eve of the Vietnam War, Dogfight follows a group of young Marines on November 21, 1963—one final night before deployment to a small but growing conflict overseas. For Corporal Eddie Birdlace and his fellow recruits, it’s a night of bravado, mischief, and questionable bets. But when Eddie meets Rose, a shy, idealistic waitress he enlists as part of a cruel game, she rewrites the rules and teaches him the power of empathy and compassion in a world poised for violence.

Praised by critics and winner of the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical, Dogfight captures the turbulence, innocence, and humanity of a generation on the brink.

For this production, the Belmont Arts Collaborative will be transformed into an alley-style immersive theatre, placing audiences face-to-face with the raw emotion, soaring music, and intimate storytelling that make Dogfight unforgettable.
