Rorate Mass - In Honor of Our Lady

The Rorate Mass is a Votive Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrated by candlelight before dawn during the Advent season, with roots tracing back to the eighth century. The Mass is named after the Latin entrance antiphon "Rorate, caeli, desuper" ("Drop down dew, ye heavens, from above"), which is drawn from Isaiah 45:8 and symbolizes the expectation of Christ's coming as the Light of the World.
