Led by Q Fitness and Wellness, this long-running community wellness event brings people together around movement, whole-body wellness, Pride, visibility, and community care.

This year, the QFW 5K is growing in both participation and purpose.

A portion of funds raised through this year’s event will help support a scholarship fund honoring Lance Sotelo through Lance's Legacy and Charlotte Pride, a young queer runner, Queens University graduate, and beloved member of Charlotte’s LGBTQ+ community whose legacy continues to move people forward.

For Q Fitness and Wellness, this event has always been about more than finishing a course. It is about creating space for people to move, connect, support one another, and show up as they are.

This year, there are two ways to participate:

•  QFW 5K: For runners, walkers, joggers, movers, and anyone who wants to complete the course at their own pace.

•  QFW ZeroK:  For supporters who want to show up, cheer, celebrate, visit fitness and wellness-focused vendors, support Charlotte Pride, support the scholarship fund, and be part of the day without running or walking the 5K.

To be clear, the ZeroK is not anti-fitness. Quite the opposite. It is designed to make this event more inclusive of all bodies, comfort levels, and fitness and wellness interests. Some people will run. Some will walk. Some will cheer. Some will donate. Some will bring a team. Some will show up for a friend. All of those count.

•  Come help carry Lance Sotelo’s legacy forward.
•  Come support LGBTQ+ fitness, whole-body wellness, and community care.
