Artist Mario Moore’s compelling new exhibition, , examines the desire for homeownership among Americans, particularly those in their twenties and thirties. He highlights common barriers that make this goal increasingly difficult today, including wage stagnation, student loan debt, and a competitive housing market where prices rise faster than salaries.
In In Pursuit of Home, carefully crafted paintings, graphite drawings, and sculpture probe the structures, both literal and symbolic, that define who inherits stability and who must create it. The artist’s Detroit background resonates throughout the work in subtle references to labor and land.
Join us for an artist talk with acclaimed curator Dexter Wimberly to delve deeper into Moore’s work and the story behind the exhibition’s development.
Light bites and an open bar will be available with your RSVP. We look forward to seeing you there!
