We love us some BLUES!MAMA is a powerhouse blues project from Asheville, NC. Led by commanding vocalist Melissa McKinney, MAMA earned Second Place at the International Blues Challenge this year. Back in 2024, Melissa represented the Charlotte Blues Society in the Solo/Duo category and made it to the finals by herself.The band delivers a high-impact show built upon a deep groove, dynamic arrangements, and commanding stage presence. MAMA is led by band leader Jonathan Lloyd of the J Lloyd Mashup. The lineup features Peter Dimery (saxophone), Andre Lyles (bass), Duane Simpson (guitar), Marcus White (keys), and Nik Hope on drums.At the front is Melissa McKinney, a vocalist known for her raw power, emotional delivery, and magnetic connection with audiences.
