Justin Varnes Jazz Legacy Project interprets the music of jazz legends while intertwining their stories with the historical moments that shaped them. This month, we bring to life the music and influences of pianist Horace Silver.

Silver’s infectious Hard Bop music was carefully crafted so you could sing along, tap your feet, and forget your troubles. A master of both melody and groove, Silver combined the sounds of his father’s island music and the big band dance era to help resurrect the popularity of jazz.
