Celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse — a rare Chinese zodiac sign that appears once every 60 years — 2026 embodies innovation, independence, and transformation, inspiring fearless expression, and bold creativity. In the spirit of the Fire Horse, we welcome all to the New Moon Festival at Blume Studios on Saturday, February 21. This community celebration will bring together a wide range of cultures, creatives, and local businesses through food, music, arts, activities, and performances. In addition to the expanded food lineup, the festival will also feature Taekwondo demos and lessons from Master Chang’s Martial Arts; activity zones and crafts by Playmore; a video game station by The Gaming Lounge and Exit 3A: The Game; Mahjong with Eastside Mahjong; face painting and glitter tattoos by Allie Rose Creative Arts; a Charlotte Knights fan shop and speed pitch machine; a pop-up nail salon by NC Nails Esthetics Academy; photo booths by CAACC and CLT Asian Eats; caricatures by artist Shin; lantern-making with UNCC VSA; origami-making with the Japanese Studies Program at UNCC; a performance by Braxton Bateman (Coltrarians) alongside the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra; and special appearances by Sir Purr and Homer.
