18th Annual Charlotte Labor Day Parade
The 2017 Charlotte Labor Day Parade is now forming. We are now in our 18th year as annual uptown parade The date and time are as usual - Labor Day Monday kicking off at 11am. This year Labor Day Monday falls on September 4th. The route is the same - starting from North Tryon and 10th streets, proceeding south on Tryon St, through the Square, turning left on 3rd St, then left again on College St. where the parade disperses. We are a genuine Labor Day parade, non-profit, and organized by labor unions to yearly remind the community of the history of organized labor and the benefits it brought to all. Our parade features labor organizations, schools, political candidates, car clubs, and civic groups. We hope you can join us in the parade. If you are interested in being in our parade, email us for an application at laborparade | aol ! com or call us at 704-877-6916 where you can leave a voicemail or a text. Entry fees are $100 for a sponsoring labor organization or partisan political candidate, $75 for a non-partisan political candidate, $50 for a business, and most civic groups (bands, car clubs, bike groups, scouts, clown, beauty queens, and others) are free. You can have floats, cars, trucks, bikes, or must march. Contact us for details and guidelines. Volunteers are also needed to help with the parade. We are a 501-c3 non profit. Come join us for an old-fashioned American parade- union made.
