Join DEM’s Division of Fish and Wildlife's Aquatic Resource Education Program, the US Fish and Wildlife Service's RI National Wildlife Refuges, and expert instructors Capt. Ray Stachelek, Dave Pollack, and Capt. Jeff Perry for the FREE annual Fly Fishing Workshop. 

Participants are invited to register for any (or all!) of the following events in the series:

1. Discovering Ninigret Pond, Cinder Worm Presentation: April 28th | 6-7pm | Kettle Pond Visitor Center, 50 Bend Road, Charlestown RI. 

2. Fly Tying Workshop: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM | Kettle Pond Visitor Center, 50 Bend Road, Charlestown RI. Tie your flies with experts! All materials provided. 

3. Cinder Worm Fly Fishing Night: May 16, 2026 | 4:00 PM – Dark | Ninigret Pond, Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge. Materials provided upon request. 

Open to adults and families with children ages 10+ — no experience needed! Learn fly tying and casting techniques from some of the region’s most skilled and knowledgeable worm fishermen. Optional kayak fishing is available for experienced kayakers with their own kayak, lighting, and required safety gear.
Space for each program is limited to 40 participants. 

Priority registration for Fly Fishing Night at Ninigret Pond will be given to participants who attend this year's workshop or have attended past fly tying workshops.
