Disrupt Poverty Conference 2019
Palmetto CAP's Disrupt Poverty Conference is an interactive day in which direct service providers, community members and thought leaders will collaborate on innovative solutions to disrupt and end the cycles of poverty among Lowcountry families.
While the 2018 Disrupt Poverty Conference focused on assessing the needs of those living in poverty, this year's focus will be how grassroots organizations, faith-based groups, government agencies, non-profits and private citizens can best work together to make meaningful change. The issues we'll be working on that were identified during last year's activities include Affordable Housing, Employment, Education and Financial Empowerment. This year's activities will build on the work done last year. Check out media coverage of last year's event!
NOTE: This event is NOT a poverty simulation (though we do those too!). It is a fun event that inspires and activates leaders through the Socratic process, appreciative inquiry, TED-style talks, and interagency team building.
This event will also serve as the setting for the February Disrupt Poverty Advocacy Council meeting.
Lunch will be served.
All are welcome.
This event is presented by Palmetto Community Action Partnership.
This event will be streamed live for those who wanted to participate but will be unable to attend physically. Check this page for streaming details closer to the event date.
