- **Event Description**: You are cordially invited to accompany The Uniformed Historian at Spring Hill Cemetery on the evening of 19 Aug 2026 for a brief tour of select Civil War graves. This is the second cemetery walk in a series of scheduled mini-tours that last approximately an hour to an hour and a half on the third Wednesday of the month. Each presentation includes different memorials to ensure guests will hear multiple, differing accounts of battles, historic events, and people from all across the conflict.

Donny Jones, a Civil War living historian of 20+ years and a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, has dedicated most of his life to telling the stories of the men who donned blue and gray during our nation’s darkest hour. He travels the country presenting stories of the everyday Civil War soldier to schools, historic societies, churches, heritage organizations, and more.

Meet at the Office Administration Building at 6:30 PM. A bottle of water, a spritz of bug spray, and proper walking shoes are highly recommended!

Weekly until the end of October:
Monday @9am: Walk with a View. (EXCEPT: June 22nd, July20th, Sept. 7th and Oct. 12th).
Tuesday @5.30pm: Cemetery Walking and Running Group.
Thursday August 13th, 7pm: Sunset Walk/Hike, Half&Half Trail & Road.
Aug. 19th, 6.30pm: Civil War Wednesdays.
Monday Aug. 24th: Invasives Workshop in partnership with WVSU Extension Service.
Monday Aug. 31st, 6pm: Arboretum PowerPoint Presentation in the Mausoleum and Tree Walk
Saturday Sept. 12th, 11am - 1pm: Monarch Butterfly Celebration and Release.
Thursday Sept. 24th: Tree and History Talk, Kanawha Co. Main Library.
Sunday Oct.11th, 1-4pm:Founders, Feathers and Flora – Re-enactors and more
Sunday Oct.25th, 2pm: 4M Trail Race and Hike.
