Musical talent ran in the family. His grandmother played the organ at church and was also a member of the choir and his father played solo acoustic at bars and restaurants around the The city of Cincinnati when he was in college. After a little time, Adam bought his 1st electric guitar, a Fender Stratocaster, and started taking lessons. He put in a lot of time learning guitar over the next two decades and had always dreamed of playing in front of people. Senior year of high school the opportunity finally arose. He was invited to come jam with a friend’s band. They did not have a lead singer and Adam volunteered to try it out. It was then that he realized he had a voice on him too! His new band, Jokers wild, signed up for their high school Music Festival and the rest is history. The band was the biggest hit of the music festival due to their powerful songs and stage presence, which was highlighted by Adam playing a guitar solo behind his head. Over the next 20+ years, he has played thousands of shows throughout the U.s., including Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, North Carolina and South Carolina as a solo artist as well as with numerous bands. He has even had the pleasure of opening for artists like, Tim Reynolds (Dave Matthews Band), Freekbass and Bootsy Collins. musical influences Adam’s major musical influences include Stevie ray vaughan, prince, Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead, phish, the allman brothers band, Jeff Austin, led-zeppelin and Pink Floyd to name a few. but the biggest musical influence that led Adam to picking up a guitar, is his father. why 7 feet of soul? You may ask yourself ‘Why 7 feet of soul?’ The name came about when he and drummer Mookie Morant had a residency at a bar on Folly Beach. Due to his tall stature and soulful voice, the bar owner, Mikey Zerola, coined the name 7 feet of soul. The rest is history. today 7 feet of soul has been an up and coming musician in the Charleston, SC area for the past 10 years. He has played at over 50 venues in the city, including the historic Charleston Pour House. In 2021 he was even nominated for the Charleston City Paper ‘jam Band of the year.’ * Show is for all ages.
