Chardstock Art Exhibition 15-16 November 2025
Over a dozen local (East Devon, South Somerset and West Dorset) artists are exhibiting their work at an exciting new exhibition to be held in Chardstock Village Hall on 15th and 16th November (11.00 – 5.00 both days).
More than a hundred works will be on display, from oils and acrylics to watercolours and collage as well as pottery, beads and a range of cards, coasters and other offerings derived from the exhibited artwork. A feature of the exhibition will be a series of paintings of local scenes in and around Chardstock and the Blackdown Hills.
The event is being staged in support of Chardstock Community Shop, now two years old. The shop was rescued by the local community who raised an amazing quarter of a million pounds which, together with a parish council grant, was enough to acquire the shop and post office from the retiring owners.
Since then volunteers have doubled the shop’s footprint, added a wide range of new products and are in the process of creating a village hub to benefit the whole community but especially the elderly and lonely in Chardstock and its surrounding hamlets.
20% of net proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the shop.
It is free entry and all are welcome to marvel at the talent on display, enjoy the refreshments offered, possibly win a commissioned painting and most certainly find some wonderful Christmas gifts for friends and family.
