Participants will gain practical tools to better understand and respond to nervous system states that influence both substance use disorders and PTSD.Participants will be able to:Identify autonomic nervous system states commonly implicated in substance use disorders and PTSDExplain how PTSD and developmental trauma shape autonomic patterns and influence the window of toleranceConceptualize substance use and trauma treatment through the lens of nervous system regulation and dysregulationIdentify at least three principles of substance use treatment that promote autonomic stability and flexibilityIdentify at least three clinical interventions that support sustained abstinence while reducing the ongoing effects of traumaThis training is designed for social workers, counselors, psychologists, and related behavioral health professionals.
