It is the home of Peychaud’s bitters, a slew of classic cocktails, the Sazerac company, an,d for over thirty years, the annual Tales of the Cocktail festival. You can bet we will be listening to some New Orleans greats like Allen Toussaint, the Meters, Dr. John, and more as we enjoy our tipples.Together we will make three New Orleans cocktails: the Cognac 75, the Sazerac, and of course the Ramos Gin Fizz - the soufflé test of bartenders everywhere, considered to be one of the most difficult drinks to perfect. For those of you who missed our first go-round at this in December, or may want a second crack at it, we will reprise this amazing cocktail, a rarity in these classes.Chef Katie will provide the king cake, with a cocktail kingdom essential tools set awarded to whoever finds the baby!Cocktails:Cognag 75Sazerac CocktailRamos Gin FizzThis month's skill-building class will take place at Little Gem on Tuesday, February 17, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Spaces will be limited to 16 seats total, so be sure to reserve yours today!
