Join us for a special night of stargazing after the Horton Holiday Village. We will have holiday refreshments, a warm fire, and an amazing view of one of the years largest meteor shower. Enjoy guided viewing of the night sky and get a special glimpse of the night sky with special viewing opportunities through various telescopes.
There will be a presentation at 8:00 about the constellations, planets, galaxies, star clusters, and other objects visible that night. Viewing will continue until at least 10:30PM. Participants are welcome to stay as long or as little as they can. We will have guest speakers presenting and sharing equipment.
ATTENDEES MUST REGISTER DUE TO LIMITED PARKING
Attendees are encouraged to dress for appropriate weather, bring chairs, blankets, refreshments, and gear if they have it. It is recommended tht you dress warmer than expected as winter viewings tend to get colder than people assume. Please do not wear illuminated clothing, blinking shoes, etc. White light interferes with night vision, please bring a red flashlight or put red cellophane over your regular flashlight. Feel free to bring your binoculars, telescope, or equipment if you have them as the park will have a very limited amount of telescopes available that will be used to share.
