About the event

Spring Break 2026: Cannon Demonstration
Join us this Spring Break for a special Cannon Demonstration, where you will learn how artillery was loaded, aimed, and fired during the Texas Revolution and discover the powerful role cannons played on the battlefield at San Jacinto.

Have you ever wondered how to load a cannon? Have you ever seen one fired? Visitors to the San Jacinto Monument can learn how to load a cannon and watch regular cannon demonstrations. It will be a blast, literally!
Cannon fire will take place on the hour and half-hour.

Note: The cannon program will be canceled if it rains.

When: March 13th, 2026, 11 AM - 1 PM
Who: All ages
Where: By the reflection pool
Cost: Free!
