Welcome, all homeschool families! Join other elementary school-aged homeschoolers to experience a naturalist-led field trip at McKinley Woods – Kerry Sheridan Grove. In the Midwest, we are lucky to have four seasons! Learn how living things keep track of the passing time and why it is important that they do. Discover why scientists pay attention to these cycles and make your own observations and predictions. 

Fee: Free!
Age: Ages 5-10. Participants must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration required by Tuesday, Sept. 1, by calling 815-722-9470 or online: https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/fpdwc/activity/search/detail/10175?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true

Please note this is not a drop-off program; adults or chaperones do not need to register but must be present for the program. 

This is an inclusive field trip, welcoming individuals of all abilities. Four Rivers Environmental Education Center is an accessible facility. Hikes will be up to 1 mile over paved and natural surface terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online (https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/americans-with-disabilities-act-information/request-accommodation-inclusion-service/) no later than 48 hours before the program.
