Η ανθρωπότητα πάντα ένιωθε την ανάγκη να επινοεί αφηγήσεις και ιστορίες για να γεμίζει το κενό της ανυπαρξίας. Σήμερα, περισσότερο από ποτέ, οι άνθρωποι προσπαθούν και αποτυγχάνουν να κατανοήσουν τον παραλογισμό της ύπαρξής τους. Η κατάθλιψη, η αλλοτρίωση και ο κατακερματισμός είναι η άλλη όψη της υπερ-επιταχυνόμενης αυτο-ενίσχυσης και του υπερβολικού ατομικισμού. Οι Miller de Nobili εμπνέονται από το έργο του Μπέκετ «Περιμένοντας τον Γκοντό» για να διερευνήσουν τις πιθανές επαναλήψεις του στο πλαίσιο της σύγχρονης κοινωνίας. Ίσως ο χαρακτήρας Estragon του Μπέκετ να έχει δίκιο όταν υποθέτει ότι, όταν βλέπουμε μόνο σκοτάδι, δεν είμαστε τυφλοί αλλά κοιτάμε στο μέλλον. Θα μπορούσαμε όμως εξίσου να χρησιμοποιήσουμε αυτό το κενό για να σταματήσουμε και να προβληματιστούμε μαζί με τους διπλανούς μας; Το There was still Time διερευνά τον τρόπο με τον οποίο ο χορός μεταδίδει ιδέες αγωνίας και απουσίας. Μπορεί η διασπαστική δύναμη της αναμονής να προσφέρει μια στιγμή για να αναπνεύσουμε σε έναν κόσμο που μας τρέχει μέσα από διαρκώς μεταβαλλόμενους τύπους κενού περιεχομένου με απίστευτα γρήγορο ρυθμό;

Humankind has always felt the need to invent narratives and stories to fill the void of nothingness. Today, more than ever, people are trying and failing to make sense of the absurdity of their existence. Depression, alienation and fragmentation are flip sides of hyper-accelerated self-enhancement and excessive individualism. Miller de Nobili takes inspiration from Beckett’s Waiting for Godot to explore its possible reiterations in the context of modern society. Maybe Beckett’s character Estragon is right to assume that, when we see only darkness, we are not blind but looking into the future. But could we equally use this emptiness to pause and reflect together with the ones next to us? There was still Time explores how dance transmits ideas of suspense and absence. Can the disruptive power of waiting offer a moment to breathe in a world that rushes us through ever-changing types of empty content at an incredibly fast pace?
