This year’s celebration will center on the Founder’s Pantry Bag Project, inspired by the story of George Washington sharing essential food supplies with neighbors during a difficult time. Together, we hope to assemble and distribute 100 pantry bags filled with ingredients local families can use to prepare simple meals and treats at home.

Founder’s Day will take place on Monday, August 31, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. The celebration will feature guest speakers, a community art project, family-friendly activities, lunch, and birthday cupcakes while supplies last. Community members are invited to join us as we learn more about Centralia’s history, celebrate the people and stories that shaped our city, and give back to our neighbors.

Immediately following the program, at 2:30, the community is invited to gather at Washington Cemetery for a graveside memorial service honoring George Washington.

A $25 donation helps fill one complete Founder’s Pantry Bag. Additional event details will be announced soon.
