Ages 12-15
This two day clay class allows teens the opportunity and joy of sculpting in clay as they design and build a small clay box and personalize it to make it their own. Whether they are a beginner or experienced in clay, they will enjoy creating. We will focus on hand-building in coil and pinch methods, slab building, slipping and scoring, painting with engobes and sgraffito techniques. No previous experience in clay necessary. Class fee includes cost of firings, clay, glazes and materials. Students should dress comfortably and bring an apron or smock.
