Join us for a wonderful night of tango as we gather to celebrate the people who have helped keep our community dancing.

We’ll honor Dwight, who kept Iowa City tango alive after COVID as an organizer and DJ; Karen, who brought heart and energy to rebuilding Cedar Rapids tango; and Jim, who provided the space for the former Cannon Dance Studio, Cedar Rapids’ home for tango since 2011.

This evening is our chance to say thank you, share memories, and celebrate all that tango has given us — and all that still lies ahead.

6:00 PM — Lesson with special guest Kevin R. Parducho from Madison, tentative topic: focused connection on the closed side of the embrace - applications for smoother ochos, more powerful giros, and beyond.
7:00–10:00 PM — Milonga
$10 milonga; $15 lesson + milonga

Bring snacks and drinks to share. Since it’s a special evening, feel free to bring something extra festive to toast with.

Traveling from out of town? PM Olga or Justin about overnight accommodations.
