These informal community readings are a chance to experience important works of theatre, learn about their historical context, and enjoy thoughtful discussion in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

No theatre experience is necessary! Whether you'd like to read a role aloud or simply listen and join the conversation, everyone is welcome. Admission is free (free-will donations are appreciated).

This Month's Play: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, by Tennessee Williams

Tennessee Williams's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" unfolds across one blistering evening on a Mississippi plantation, as the Pollitt family gathers to celebrate patriarch Big Daddy's birthday, unaware that he's dying. At the center of the storm is Maggie "the Cat," fighting to save her marriage and secure her share of the family fortune, and her husband Brick, a washed-up football star drowning in alcohol and grief over the recent death of his best friend. As the night wears on, greed, desire, and old resentments come to a head, and Big Daddy forces the truths everyone's been avoiding out into the open.
