✨ Winter Solstice: A Circle of Celebration ❄️
at Agni Mandir in Cedar Park TX
Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year. We invite you to gather in community to honor the old ways—remembering the traditions and myths of Celtic Winter Solstice, a sacred ritual to shift from darkness into light, and sharing a gift exchange woven with mischief and healing.
🌲 History & Myth of Solstice
Remember the ancestors and honor the roots of modern holiday traditions as we explore the history of Celtic Winter Solstice and the myth of winter’s crone, who teaches the power of surrender and renewal.
🔥 Solstice Light Ritual
A guided experience to honor what you’ll leave in the dark and what you’ll expand into the returning light—through reflection, solstice art and craft, and an embodied spell.
🎁 Winter Sídhe Gift Exchange
Similar to a White Elephant, this playful exchange honors the spirit realm of the Solstice. Bring a wrapped gift in the spirit of mischief or a gift wrapped with the intention of healing like the myth of the Celtic Sidhe (pronounced shee).
Gift Inspiration: something from home you feel called to pass on for healing or playful mischief; a funny or curious find from a thrift store; a small piece of art; an item that inspires creativity or transformation; any random treasure you’re ready to release —let intuition and the Sídhe (spirits) guide your choice. No need to spend money. We’ll have a few extra gifts if you need one for the exchange.
🔥 Solstice Fire, Soup & Spiced Cider
We’ll close the evening gathered around the fire with warm soup, spiced cider, and soulful community connection.
Arrival: Please arrive on or before 5pm and our circle of celebration begins at 5:20pm.
What to Wear: Winter Woodland Magick Cozy, earthy layers or ritual wear in greens, blacks, deep blues, winter whites, golds, or silvers. Woodland forest creatures and subtle nature-inspired touches are welcome. Warm, simple, and connected to the winter forest.
