ASTA Honors Vets with the Veteran's Day Flyer!
ASTA is hosting the Veteran's Day Flyer to honor and thank all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Veterans and active-duty military ride for free*! (*Limit 3 per order.) Celebrate the service members in your life by bringing them on board for a memorable experience.
This 3-hour train ride follows our Bertram Flyer route, beginning at the Cedar Park Depot and traveling through the Texas Hill Country. Along the way, you’ll cross Short Creek Canyon, traverse the 300-foot-long wooden trestle bridge over the South San Gabriel River, and make a brief stop at the historic 1912 Bertram Depot, giving you a chance to stretch your legs and take photos. The journey takes place aboard beautifully restored vintage railcars from the 1930s–1950s, pulled by a historic diesel locomotive. Enjoy comfortable seating, a friendly crew, and the timeless charm of railroading as it used to be.
Sip While You Ride
Adults 21+ can purchase beer, wine, and mimosas onboard in our Cedar Park concession car! Whether you’re toasting to a special occasion or simply enjoying a relaxing day out, it’s the perfect way to elevate your adventure. Cheers to vintage vibes, great company, and cold drinks on a classic train!
Schedule:
- Doors open: 1:00 PM (please arrive 1 hour before departure)
- Boarding: 1:15–1:40 PM (train cannot wait for late arrivals)
- Departure: 2:00 PM
- Return: 5:00 PM

Due to the unique nature of our nonprofit railroad operations, tickets are non-refundable, and no discounts are available for this special event.
To ensure the best experience for all, we kindly ask groups of two to avoid selecting seats that face each other. If chosen, we may need to reassign them so you remain seated together.
