About our Event
Riverview Center’s Breakfast of Light is a morning of reflection, connection, and community, honoring the strength and resilience of survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
Guests will hear from our keynote speaker, who will share how he found hope after tragedy. The event also features a community resource fair, offering access to local services and supports for individuals, families, and professionals seeking information for themselves or loved ones.
Join us as we shine a light on hope, healing, and the life-changing advocacy, counseling, and survivor-centered services Riverview Center provides. Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate community.
About our Speaker
A fire officer and instructor for over 25 years, Jim Schmidt turned personal tragedy into a national mission after the 2021 murder of his step-daughter, Gabby Petito. As co-founder of the Gabby Petito Foundation, Jim advocates for domestic violence survivors and missing persons, bridging gaps in prevention through trauma-informed training and leadership.
