If you’re a busy career woman or mother who feels harried, stressed, and you are looking for peace amidst the chaos, then join us for an amazing pajama party to relax, restore, and reset your whole way of living and looking at life.
As you check in for the day, a wonderful harpist will greet you with delightful and melodic music as you eat your nutritious, home-cooked, plant-based breakfast, while enjoying lounge time to meet the other women in attendance.
You will gather to play Sparked, a safe and supportive game where women may start as strangers, but by the end of the game, everyone will feel bonded, because of the unique experience of a game based on simply talking and listening, without judgment.
Through the guidance of a clinical aromatherapist, you will discover the self-care energies of essential oils and participate in a guided do-it-yourself project to take home. You will make “shower fizzes” that offer an aromatherapeutic upgrade to a morning or evening cleansing routine.
An esthetician will share the benefits of establishing an ongoing skin care practice. She will also guide you in a do-it-yourself project to make a lip scrub, which helps to exfoliate the lips, while keeping them moisturized.
Through free time and lounging, you will have plenty of time to mingle and chat as you indulge in your morning and afternoon snacks and lunch.
You will gather in the outdoor amphitheater to watch Second Act, a dramedy, starring Jennifer Lopez, as a woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. In true J-Lo form, her character gets the chance to prove that street smarts are just as valuable as book smarts, and that it is never too late to start a second act.
While you are relaxing and enjoying Second Act, you won’t have to lift a finger to get your delectable dinner, because it will be brought to you like the queen that you are. Think of it as a night at a luxury movie theater.
Over a campfire, the McKinney Roughs Nature Park staff will quietly prepare, an old-fashioned, peach cobbler in a Dutch oven, with non-dairy ice cream for your dessert. After the movie and dinner, you will have free time to enjoy your dessert, campfire, and chat.
You will have the freedom to move as you wish and fully enjoy the healing power of music that is refreshing, encouraging, enlivening, and uplifting by a female DJ who knows how to excite and inspire women.
You will have the opportunity to get a beautiful henna tattoo by a henna artist to set your intention as you return home.
It wouldn’t be a pajama party without sweet treats, so enjoy the dessert bar masterfully prepared by ATX Food Co.
We will end the day in a closing circle as we share our experiences and thoughts for the day and return home with a new sense of vibrancy.
The following people will greet you to make this retreat a memorable, relaxing, and wonderful experience.
Sandra K. Foreman
Founder of The Spa in Me, LLC
Everything I have experienced as a student, wife, mother, and lawyer has shaped who I am, but it was really my burnout and search for new meaning that brought me to where I am now. There was no dramatic moment when the burnout began; instead, it happened gradually over a period of years.
As the fatigue and exhaustion developed, I felt increasingly dissatisfied, out of balance and lost. Maybe your own life is not so different. What I now know is that by not taking better care of myself, I lost the opportunity during those 20-plus years to truly get to know my own interests and authentic self.
This realization was my awakening. After that, I began to change my lifestyle and better manage my stress. I stopped working weekends and long hours. I limited the number of pro bono cases I accepted each year. As my sons grew older and more independent, I used my free time to discover my interests.
The activities I enjoyed the most were those that helped me to slow down, quiet my mind, and spend time outdoors. I discovered spas, hiking trails, and many yoga studios. I even completed yoga teacher training. I started to feel less guilty when spending time away from my family, or when hibernating in my personal cave at home.
The time I carved out for myself helped me to manage my stress, which in turn, helped me to find the right flow and balance to my life. This restructuring allowed me to become a better person and to live with more clarity, independent of my roles as a wife, mother, and lawyer.
As I’ve grown older and developed personally, it feels good to live without the labels that society places on who we’re supposed to be. My new purpose in life is to help other women acknowledge their worth in making self-care an ongoing practice as opposed to an occasional indulgence.
And now here I am, with a new energy, free spirit, and purpose to guide women in establishing their own self-care rituals in every phase of their career and motherhood. I want to pass on to other women – including you, I hope – a toolbox of self-care strategies that are uplifting and bring a sense of calm and inner peace to their lives. Will you allow me to be your guide on this self-care journey by joining us at our second retreat? I certainly hope so!

Angela, new to Texas, has worked in clinics and medical spas all over the world, including Israel, Russia, New York, and Las Vegas, all leading locations in the skin care industry. Angela has been perfecting her skills in the beauty industry for over sixteen years, ten of which she has spent as an esthetician.
Angela’s love for skin care started when she was a teenager, as she developed her foundations while helping her mother in her school with students. Angela’s love for the industry grew very fast as she began teaching at her mother’s school in Russia. One of the greatest things Angela learned from her mother, at such a young age, was to treat the person and not just do the procedure. By working in three different countries, Angela was able to tailor the best of what she had learned into a personal system that focuses on the needs of the patient/client. This system allows Angela to give the best treatments necessary for optimal results, all while giving a relaxing, pampering experience. Angela specializes in many services at Ann Webb Skin Clinic and her enthusiasm is undeniable. It shines through in every one of her treatments.

“I worked in corporate retail after high school, where I managed the top performing stores in the telecommunications Industry. Working long hours and being constantly stressed out, my health began to suffer as a result of this line of work and led to frequent doctor visits. After a two year addiction to pain Medic*tion, I realized one day that this was no longer a path that served me, which was the beginning of my journey to plant-based healing foods.
I spent the next years transforming my health, both mindfully and physically, by going back to nature. I wanted to spread the good news to those around me of how eating plant-based healing foods can change every aspect of our lives. I have been striving to encourage everyone to take control of their health through healing foods. This is why I started ATX FOOD CO., making healthier food options more accessible to everyone!”
