The Open Pittsburgh Thunderbirds Tryout, presented by Two Frays Brewery, will take place Saturday, January 17th, 2026. This is an all-inclusive tryout open to all players of skills, backgrounds, gender, race, ethnicity, and religion. This is your chance to test your ultimate Frisbee skills against the Thunderbirds.
Registration before Jan 1, 2026: $65.00
Registration after Jan 1, 2026: $80.00

The Hatchery is a collaborative open training environment built for motivated athletes across all Pittsburgh ultimate programs. Consisting of 7 sessions led by Shani Rosenthal and Better Build Physical Therapy LLC, these community workout pods are open to anyone looking to take their game to the next level and prepare for the Pittsburgh Thunderbirds tryouts on January 17th at South Pointe Field House, or any club team you may be aspiring to join.

You must be at least 18 years of age or older to attend.
You must also receive a passing physical from your personal care physician or have had a physical in the past 365 days in order to participate. The Thunderbirds will give participants the option to receive this service for $15.00 should they not have a physical.
We will be sending an email out before tryout with the following information:
- What to expect from the tryout
- Player survey to gather more information about your abilities
Bring cleats, a water bottle, and a great attitude!
An Invitation Only Tryout will be held on Saturday, January 31st at Highmark Stadium from 1PM - 4PM should you make it to the 2nd round (with a weather back-up date being Saturday, February 7th at Highmark Stadium from 1PM - 4PM).
