Madison County plans to purchase Reisman & Sigety Halls (Part of the Cazenovia College property) from 9 Fresh Investors for $1.9 million. 

- There was no public input for this deal.

- No Village or Town residents will have input once the site is owned by the county.

The County plans to bring:
- The Sheriff’s Office
- EMS/911 Services
- A possible police training facility

This will include demolishing Sigety Hall for more parking, adding loud generators and other emergency equipment. Traffic patterns, safety for walkers, and safety for people who already feel unwelcome in Cazenovia.

Key Concerns

- Lack of Transparency: Residents were not informed. How can we trust leadership?

- Zoning Issues: Properties are zoned for education. Will the County bypass village protections?

- Equity & Trust: Sheriff’s Office currently has an agreement with ICE. What does that mean for community safety?

- Community Character: A large law enforcement presence downtown will change the safe and welcoming vibrancy of our business district. How does this impact the accountability  and rapport we have with Village police?
