Hello! We wanted to share some information and advice for those attending our Catskill Repair Cafe on January 31st at the Catskill Firehouse from 10am-2pm. Impressive if you get through the entire post, but we promise not to quiz you when you arrive…
1. We anticipate a good crowd, but we do not take reservations at this time so it is a first come first serve event. You DO need to stay while the item is being fixed and cannot drop it off, leave and come back later.
2. Please ensure all items are as clean as possible.
3. Once inside, you will register , be given a number for your item, and shown to the waiting area. To be fair, you have to go through this process for each item you bring in to be fixed - even if it’s for the same station (so two lamps for example). When busy we try to limit each fix to about 20 minutes to keep things moving along.
Each person is allowed 5 knives/ tools to be sharpened at a time. If you have more than 5, again, you’ll have to grab a new number at the registration desk once your 5 are sharpened.
4. We charge at-cost for available parts. If we do not have your part on hand you can purchase it at the hardware store and come back that day or to a future event. If you know the part you need, it’s advisable to purchase it ahead of time.
5. Please be kind, patient and considerate of others. Everyone working the event is a volunteer and we do the best we can to keep repairs moving along.
6.There may be times where fixers are unable to attend the cafe and cancel last minute. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but there is no way for us to notify you ahead of time . We will update our page ASAP and you can feel free to message us on FB, Insta or by email the night before or the morning of to ask about your fixer.

7. There will be light refreshments including coffee, tea, and baked goods from Bonni Bakes Catskill.
