Meet the Calves

The rangers will be opening the barn once again to meet the newest additions to the herd of Sussex cattle that graze Farthing Downs and the local commons:

• This is the first chance to see our new calves before they join the conservation grazing herd in spring
• Find out more about the role our herd of Sussex cattle, Jacob sheep, and goats play in supporting biodiversity across London's second-largest National Nature Reserve
• Discover more about the work of the rangers and volunteers and what they do to look after the local commons

Event information

• Families and children are welcome
• Sorry, no dogs are allowed at this event
• No need to book, just turn up

£3 suggested donation - Donations help us run events like these and various conservation projects across all of the four local Coulsdon Commons that benefit people and wildlife. You can either donate online following the link to the right or on the day.

Site access and parking

*There is no parking onsite* - There is limited space for disabled and blue badge holders in the yard. There is nearby residential parking or on-street parking on Hayes Lane CR5 1JS (a short 5-10 mins walk across Coulsdon Common) or the Fox pub CR3 5QS (a short 10-15 mins walk across Coulsdon Common).
