As a fellow jazz dance, Lindy Hop has been influenced by tap dancing from the very beginning. Today, both tap dancers and Lindy Hoppers can be seen sharing space and ideas on dance floors around the world. The Shim Sham Shimmy, a common line dance done in the Lindy community, was adapted by Frankie Manning from Leonard Reed and Willie Bryant’s original-tap version. 

In this all-levels workshop, we will explore basic tap drills and rhythms that can be used to elevate our solo jazz dance and our Lindy Hop. This will also help us gain a better appreciation for another beautiful jazz art form we share this space with.

This session will be soft-shoe, so no tap shoes or partners required.
