Mooinjer Veggey is proud to announce Through Quirk’s Eyes, a landmark exhibition at the Erin Arts Centre featuring 18 celebrated Manx artists. Each artist has been invited to curate a unique piece inspired by the perspective and imagination of the late William Thomas Quirk — poet, teacher, and cultural figure.
Artists contributing include:
Sally Black, Darren Jackson, Steph Quayle, Helen Faragher, Clare Payne, Juan Moore, Katie Summerville, Kim Tashagh, Ongky Wijana, Stedhead, Graham Hall, Andrew Mackellar, Abi Hiskey, Bruno Cavellec, Eve Adams, Ella Magee, and more.
The exhibition will open with a Private View on 9th January 2026 to launch Mooinjer Veggey into The Year of Our Language, followed by a public showing for one month at the Erin Arts Centre.
All works will be available through a community auction, with bids submitted via ballot boxes at the venue or by email to

About Mooinjer Veggey
Founded in 1996, Mooinjer Veggey (meaning “little people” in Manx) is a charity dedicated to making Manx Gaelic accessible to children and families across the Isle of Man. From nurseries and toddler groups to its support of the world’s only fully Manx-medium primary school, Bunscoill Ghaelgagh, Mooinjer Veggey has been at the heart of the revival of the Manx language.
Through projects like Bunney Dys, which aims to double the number of Manx speakers by 2032, Mooinjer Veggey creates opportunities for parents, carers, and children to experience Manx as a living language. Its mission is not just about preservation but about giving the next generation the confidence to live and play in Manx.
This exhibition is more than a showcase of outstanding local creativity — it is a celebration of community, language, and cultural heritage. By enjoying the extraordinary talent of these artists, and through the collective support of the Manx community, Through Quirk’s Eyes will help Mooinjer Veggey continue its mission to make the Manx language a vibrant part of everyday life.
