In November 1883 a young humpback whale swam into the Tay estuary.  How did the Victorian population of Dundee react?  What role did the fisherfolk of Gourdon, Montrose and Stonehaven play in its fate? This is the extraordinary story of what happened to a creature that might still have been alive today and how its bones ended up suspended from the ceiling of the McManus Galleries in Dundee.

Following this fascinating story told by Neil Paterson, local band Shenanigans will take to the stage with some sea shanties to get everyone into the mood for the fabulous Fish Festival.

The event kicks off at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm) and is suitable for all ages 7 and up.  Tickets £10/£5 are available from Johnshaven Stores or online from Ticketsource, https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/johnshavenvillagehall
