The Desmarais Trio is a London-based jazz ensemble featuring Guy Dempsey (bass), Lewis James (piano), and Lester Ridout (drums). Having met during their studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Royal Academy of Music, the trio share a deep appreciation of timeless swing. Drawing inspiration from the great piano trios of the past and present, they will be exploring music from the Great American Songbook and beyond. Their programme features composers such as Ellington, Porter, Gershwin, and a few surprises. 

Support comes from Beccy Rork and the Vanguards. Brighton based saxophonist Beccy Rork is no stranger either to the Festival or indeed the island's jazz scene . Earlier in the year she played an impromptu gig with local quartet The Vanguards at the Jazz Club at the British Hotel. The event took off, with all participants agreeing "we must do all this again sometime soon". Expect a session of lively jazz with a predominantly hard bop sound.
