Kirtan is a call-and-response form of musical meditation that combines group singing, rhythm and movement. Participants follow a lead singer and musicians, singing simple, repeated ancient chants (no experience needed, the words are easy to pick up as you go). This uplifting practice helps you relax, connect with others, and experience different states, from calm meditation to joyful, ecstatic dance.

Kirjam is a collective of local Castlemaine kirtan singers and musicians who host public kirtan events at every solstice and equinox.

Arrive at 7:00 pm for chai and mingling. Sweet treats and chai will be available for purchase. The kirtan will begin at 7:30 pm. 

Cushions and chairs will be provided, and you're welcome to bring your own meditation cushion if you have one. All are welcome to join us.

There won't be any advance tickets for this event. A suggested donation of $10 or more at the door helps us cover costs.
