Acclaimed artist, traveller, musician and author Mary Fairburn tells this magical tale. Mary will be present to speak about her life and the processes of writing and illustrating this new work.

One of the few Tolkien artists in the world, her professional relationship to J.R.R. Tolkien and his literary works began in the 60’s and culminated with the publication of her stunning visual depictions of Middle Earth with the international release of the 2015 Tolkien Calendar by Harper Collins.

SELANGATH, or ‘Angels In The Sea’, is Mary Fairburn’s current work. A fantasy legend; SELANGATH explores through the lens of science fiction, a surrealist future world where good and evil battle beneath the waves of the Earth’s oceans. Through a fantasy of images and text, SELANGATH enters an aquatic dream world where the creatures of the sea struggle against tyranny, manipulation and power.
