It is rare to find a group that blends Irish traditional, folk, and contemporary music with such a distinctive a cappella vocal style. Drawing on outstanding vocal talent from Mayo, Coda have developed a richly harmonised sound that is both powerful and deeply moving.
Since the release of their debut album Mouthmusic (2013), produced by Maurice Lennon, Coda have performed at major festivals and venues including Temple Bar Tradfest and Electric Picnic, and have appeared on RTÉ and TG4. Their acclaimed albums Train of Spirits (produced by Dónal Lunny) and O’Carolan in Song showcase their masterful arrangements and musical depth. The group now includes celebrated harper Freda Hatton**, who joined Coda following the Achill Harp Festival project.
