Book Launch 'Devil in a Robe' by Kate Donnelly
'Devil in a Robe' by Kate Donnelly - a psychological thriller about a woman working in a women's refuge who feels that her options to help a client and her children, who live with abuse from a powerful, influential man, are running out. How can she stop this man and get justice for her client? The book has been described as 'world-changing', 'compelling', 'a real page turner' and 'a psychological masterpiece'.
This is Kate"s debut novel. She is originally from Birmingham and now resides in County Mayo. She has worked with many women and children who have lived with violence and abuse - this book is an attempt to highlight the impact domestic violence has on people's lives, even long after the abuse has ended. Kate is a strong advocate for gender justice and women's and children's right to live free from violence.
'Devil in a Robe' is being launched by Geraldine Mitchell, an Irish writer and poet who lives in County Mayo.
In 2008, she won the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award and a Mayo County Council Bursary to the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. In 2011, the Arts Council of Ireland awarded her a literature bursary.
