This 2-day workshop will engage environmental science, chemistry, and biology teachers (and biotechnology instructors) in hands-on, phenomena-based lessons focused on integrating the science of modern food production into their classrooms and career technical education programs.

This 2-Day workshop includes 3 major components:
All participants are expected to attend every part. Hotel stay and meals will be provided.
The professional learning component explores practical, phenomena-based, NGSS-aligned lessons. Every participant receives $300 worth of supplies for classroom use. Professional development credit available through North Dakota State University.
*NEW in 2025* Attended before? We have new food science lessons this year, using aseptic technique for food safety to test marshmallows made from cane sugar and beet sugar.
WHO THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR: This workshop is open to middle and high school science teachers from the state of North Dakota. Continuing education hours will be awarded.
