Over the past few weeks, I have been reviewing new information regarding the ALTO project and its potential impacts on our region.

As Mayor, my responsibility is to listen, to ask questions, and to ensure that the voices of our community are clearly understood and represented.

To support that, I will be hosting a Community Dialogue Session to hear directly from residents.

📅 Thursday, April 9
⏰ 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
📍 750 Principal Street (Council Chambers)

This session is open to residents of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

The goal is to create a space for meaningful discussion around the project, including its potential impacts on farmland, the environment, transportation, local businesses, and our communities as a whole.

Whether you support the project, oppose it, or are still forming your opinion, your perspective matters. I am particularly interested in hearing:

• your concerns
• your priorities
• your expectations
• and any concrete solutions or ideas you would like to see brought forward

This will be a bilingual session. Everyone is welcome to participate and speak in the language they are most comfortable with.

Please note: this is not a space for hostility, intimidation, or personal attacks. Respectful dialogue is required to ensure that all participants feel safe to share their views. If the discussion becomes disrespectful, the session will be ended.

If we want to influence outcomes, we need to move beyond reaction and toward constructive, informed engagement.

Au cours des dernières semaines, j’ai pris connaissance de nouvelles informations concernant le projet ALTO et ses impacts potentiels sur notre région.

En tant que mairesse, ma responsabilité est d’écouter, de poser des questions et de m’assurer que la voix de notre communauté est bien comprise et représentée.

Dans cet objectif, je tiendrai une séance de dialogue communautaire afin d’entendre directement les résidents.

Cette séance est ouverte aux résidents des Comtés unis de Prescott et Russell.

L’objectif est de créer un espace de discussion constructive sur le projet, incluant ses impacts potentiels sur les terres agricoles, l’environnement, le transport, les entreprises locales et nos communautés dans leur ensemble.

Que vous soyez en faveur du projet, opposé ou encore en réflexion, votre point de vue est important. Je souhaite particulièrement entendre :

• vos préoccupations
• vos priorités
• vos attentes
• ainsi que toute solution concrète ou idée que vous souhaitez voir portée

Cette séance sera bilingue. Tous sont les bienvenus et peuvent s’exprimer dans la langue de leur choix.
