📚 Celebrate National Book Day with DIY Bookmarks! ✂️🖍️
Join us on August 9th for a fun, hands-on bookmark-making session in honor of National Book Day! 🎉 Whether you're a craft queen, a sticker hoarder, or just need a cute way to mark your next read—this is for you.
We’ll gather on Saturday, August 9th at 10 AM at the Seminole County Library Central Branch (Jean Rhein Central Branch, 215 N Oxford Road, Casselberry, FL 32707).
✨ We will provide the basic materials (scissors, glue sticks, colored papers, & instructions), but any additional supplies you can bring will take the bookmarks to the next level!
Here are a few ideas of what to bring:
- Extra Scissors ✂️
- Extra Glue sticks or tape
- Markers, crayons, colored pens 🖍️
- Paper (cardstock, printer paper, scrapbook paper, etc.)
- Stickers, washi tape, stamps
- Hole punchers + string, ribbon, or thread
- Mod Podge (for glossy finish)
- Paint pens or gel pens
- Magazine clippings for collage-style bookmarks
- Corner rounders (to soften edges)
- Embellishments (tiny gems, buttons, charms)
- Rulers for those clean edges!
Got extra supplies? Bring ’em along to share for the day or donate for future events!
No experience necessary—just good vibes and bookish energy.
We’ll have tons of inspiration and space to create. Whether you keep your bookmark or gift it to a fellow book lover, it’s a great way to get creative and celebrate the stories we love. 💛
After the event, we’ll plan to get lunch with whomever wants to join!
