About the trip: Reserve your seat with the Friends of the Library for an a-maize-ing bus adventure on Saturday, May 9, 2026! We'll depart Cass City on a comfortable chartered bus and head to Midland for a delightful mix of nature, good food, and theater. The day features a fair amount of leisurely walking on well-maintained, mostly flat, ADA-accessible hard-surface paths (about 1.5–2 miles total). Begin with the thrilling 1,400-foot Whiting Forest Canopy Walk, soaring up to 40 feet high via gentle ramps and boardwalks. After a relaxed lunch at the on-site Whiting Forest Café, enjoy a self-guided stroll through the beautiful trails, blooms, and features of Dow Gardens. It's enjoyable for most abilities, with accessibility in mind, but comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. at the Midland Center for the Arts for seating ahead of the 2:00 p.m. performance of Shucked, the Tony Award-winning, hilarious corn-fed musical comedy.
