Fruit tree care

Growing fruit trees in Wyoming is absolutely possible—but success can vary and results can be influenced by many factors. This introductory course is designed to provide practical care instructions for new and aspiring fruit tree growers.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of caring for apples, sour cherries, pears, and plums, with a focus on seasonal care, including watering, fertilization, soil improvement, pest management, and pruning. The class emphasizes what to do, when to do it, and—just as importantly—what not to do. Differences in care requirements among fruit types will be highlighted where relevant.
