Join us for an informative, family-friendly evening as the United States Environmental Protection Agency hosts a community discussion on air quality on Tuesday, December 9, at 6 PM in the Crawford Room. This presentation will cover key topics, including radon, wildfire smoke, the Air Quality Index, and how to find reliable information about daily air quality conditions. Children are welcome, and there will be hands-on activities and free resources designed just for them.
Families will learn practical steps they can take to reduce their exposure to air quality issues throughout the year. Wildfire smoke can impact communities in any season, even in winter, so now is the perfect time to learn how to stay prepared and smoke ready. Winter is also an ideal time to test for radon, since results are most accurate when buildings remain closed during short-term tests.
Radon detectors from our Library of Things collection will be available to check out at the event. For more information, call 577.7323.
