- **Event Description**: International Dark Sky Week is a worldwide celebration of the night! It’s an annual event spearheaded by DarkSky International.

It’s a time to discover the wonder and awe of night and recognize the crucial importance of natural night to the health and well-being of our planet. It’s also a time to learn about the harmful effects of light pollution and what we can do to protect our dark night skies.

We'll meet at Picnic Shelter 1 and hike around the back woods loop, which is a 1.5-mile paved trail loop.

We'll be hiking for approximately 1.5 hours

Wear sturdy close-toed shoes, appropriate clothing, and bring plenty of water

Everyone who attends must bring their own flashlight or headlamp

All Ages are welcome but children under 16 must have a parent accompany them at all times

Pre-registration is required

Cost is $5.00 per person

Fee is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by park staff due to inclement weather
